Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.
St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School Ashbury gathers each morning to begin the day with a short prayer to grow our sense of community. Students also attend whole school celebrations approximately twice a term, which includes feast day Masses, Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations, ANZAC service and our Grandparents’ Liturgy, which is run with the support of our Religious Education Coordinator and Family Educator to foster our faith.
Throughout the year, our parish priest visits classrooms to teach a lesson from the students’ current unit of study or to explore the seasons of the Church with the class teacher to help link parish and school relationships.
