Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
Our value of service lies at the heart of our school, and in this spirit, we are committed to serving others through Christ-centred charitable outreach initiatives. We promote and share the values of Catholic social teachings and support a range of charitable organisations.
In line with our vision, all members are encouraged through these acts of service, to make meaningful and sustained contributions to and for the world in which they live. St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Primary School Ashbury gives priority to Catholic organisations and agencies, especially Caritas Australia, Catholic Mission, Catholic Care, St Vincent de Paul, The Catholic Education Foundation and the Archdiocesan Charitable Works Fund.
Charitable commitments are carefully planned with the Student Representative Council on an annual basis, so as to ensure that families are in a good position to offer support.
